I think about buying a no name lens.

Does gyro stablilization work with any lens?

The gyro is a camera function and will be generated for BRAW clips if the camera doesn’t detect the lens such as with a manual lens. If the camera detects lens stabilization is On, you do not want gyro stabilization data.

You’ll need to put the focal length into camera metadata before shooting with that lens, then it works with non-electronic lenses too.
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
