BMPCC 6K PRO Screen Freeze
Posted: Thu Sep 15, 2022 12:10 amI bought the BMPCC 6K PRO back in Feb '22 and it was working just fine since. However, recently the screen would start glitching (see images below) before ultimately freezing. It wouldn't operate properly unless I switch the camera off then back on.
More recently it has stopped with the glitching & goes straight to screen freeze. Timing since switched on and freeze is varying, namely 10-50 secs, regardless of when- it would always freeze.
I couldn't work out what could be wrong with it, sensor should be fine regardless of the initial glitching since it was an on and off sort.
It's also not necessarily the screen itself damaged since again it can easily turn on and function for rarely an extended time- that being 2 minutes. But most notably is that even when the screen freezes on recording 'window' pressing the menu button would easily bring up the setting and I could adjust any parameter before going back to recording mode to a frozen screen.
I have also realised I haven't updated the firmware since I got it (7.5 I believe it was) so I updated it to 7.9.2 and it started working fine- said my foolish self then before the camera shattering my hopes as a split second glitch froze the screen after a long 5 minute operation, however, since that one time after the update, it went back exactly to how it used to be with the few seconds before freeze. One last notable thing is that if I keep the camera still it may last a few seconds longer whereas sometimes as soon as I adjust the focus or iris it would freeze a second later- not sure if this is only me imaging though since this recognition is very recent and I've been avoiding switching it on and off too many time just in case.
