BMD Camera with UVC? (USB-C to Webcam)

PostSat Sep 24, 2022 12:33 am

Do any of the BMD Cameras support UVC (USB-C to computer for webcam)

Looking to find a simple solution to avoid capture cards for non-techy clients. Most of the mirrorless cameras don't achieve HD resolution, and if they do, it's like 15fps.

Hoping to find 1920x1080 at 30fps (with audio) via USB-C to computer.

Send the output of any camera into any BMD 3G Video Assist or 12G video assist (either HDMI and SDI) and the USB-C output of the Video Assist will be seen by the computer as a standard webcam.

I have a 12G VA and it feels like it's laggy at times and even freezes occasionally for a few frames, at least on MacOS + Zoom. I also have the old 720p Web Presenter and it I think it's much more reliable, it just works every single time.

The Sony A7IV does it very well in HD. Its biggest disadvantage is not being a BM camera.
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.
