Weird spots on display

PostSun Sep 25, 2022 8:10 pm

Hello everyone, maybe someone can help me here. My BMPCC4K has been standing unused for half a year, but checked regularly in a room with a normal temperature. I charge it regularly and take care of it. Today I discovered these strange spots on the display and have no idea what it is. They're probably under the display. Has anyone seen this before? What is that? Thanks very much!

The temperature may be normal, but what about humidity?
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

Yeah that looks like fungus, unfortunately the pocket cameras seem to be very susceptible, usually it's the IR filter that resembles a petri dish, the screen is a new one.

Not sure how to clean it, defiantly get some UV light (the sun will do) on there now to stop the spread.

That's definitely fungus.

In Indonesia I need to keep all my equipment in a dry cabinet. Lenses are endangered just as much.

The humidity was around 65 / 70 percent. I have 2 BMPCC4K in this room. With the other - everything is normal. Could it really be humidity? Then it maybe would disappear... Hmmm... Summer was really hot in Germany, now cold. Makes sense, but can that happen to a display from the BMPCC4K? Any solutions?

However, I've never heard of fungus in a display. Aaaaaaaah...
In countries where it's very humid, I can understand it, but in Germany it's not that humid. But that shouldn't happen with such an expensive camera. What can I do? Thanks!
