Ursa Mini Pro 12K Formatting My Drive Incorrectly

Hello everyone!

I just purchased a SanDisk 4TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD (SDSSDE81-4T00-G25) to go along with the 2TB version.

The 2TB version works perfectly. I can record in all resolutions and when I connect it to my PC, it has a drive letter and it shows one partition.

But my new 4TB drive is weird. After I format it on the camera, I connect to my PC and it shows five partitions of 2 TB each. And Windows doesn't assign it a drive letter.

Here's a screenshot from Disk Management:

Why is my camera formatting as if there's 10TB?

I would really appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

You can always format the drive on your PC:

Just use ExFAT and set allocation unit size to 128 kilobytes

It seems there is something weird going on with your drive. Are you sure it is a genuine drive from SanDisk?

That's what crossed my mind that it's not a genuine drive. Amazon has these drives with a big discount. The packaging and the drive itself looks very genuine.

I purchased another 2 TB instead. I'll see if this works.

Just by accident I saw that there is a long thread about the same problem you got here.
Have a look:

The TLD'R is that it looks like there is a problem with this particular SSD and the UMP12k together when formatting in camera. It works as it should when formatting the SSD in your computer.
