I sold my Moza Air 2S, which could power the BMPCC, but my new ronin RS3 Pro can't power the BMPCC so I want to power it by the LP-E6(N)(H) batteries, because V-mount and other battery options are to heavy for me to do a long day shooting.
The original Blackmagic batteries are 2000 mAh and have a 'lifetime' of about 40-45 minutes, so I was looking for some batteries which hold longer: I couldn't find any!!!
I didn't try the very expensive 2130 mAh Canon's from € 112,95, but don't think they will last very longer than the original, maybe a few minutes but then you better buy 2,5 original batteries for that price.
So here are the results, recorded at 25 frames prores422 with full lcd brightness. I tested three times per battery and the results of test 1, 2 and 3 are almost the same. Some batterie don't show a 'red-indication' when the battery is almost empty and I really don't like that:
- Newell plus lp-e6 2300 mAh € 22,00: 40m 33s, no red-indication, powers suddenly off at 27%.
- Newell lp-e6n 2200 mAh € 26,99: 32m 47s, very long red indication, from 25% to 15%. Powers off at 15%.
- Newell Supracell lp-e6nh 2300 mAh € 44,00: 38m 31s, no red-indication, powers suddenly off at 27%.
- Chili power CP-E6N 2000 mAh € 22,50: 31m 54s, no red-indication, powers suddenly off at 27%.
- Enegon lp-e6nh 3000 mAh € 26,50: 36 m 25s, no red-indication, powers suddenly off at 41% !!!!
- Wasabi btw-lpe6-jwp 2600 mAh € 69,00 including 2 batteries and charger: 26m 34s.
Original two year old Blackmagic battery 2000 mAh € 40,95: 42m 46s, very long red-indication, powers off at 6.1V.
If anyone does know the runtime of the Canon batteries please let me know.
