BMCC speedbooster will work on BMPCC?

Just received the new metabones speedbooster. Unfortunately instead of the ordered BMPCC version I've received the BMCC version.

Not tried it on my BMPCC because I don't want to damage my camera.

Anyone here that have tried the new BMCC speedbooster on the pocket camera? Will it fit?

The BMPCC can use all 3 Speed Boosters.

The BMCC can use both the MFT and the BMCC version.

MFT cameras can only use the MFT version.

You should probably send it back though right? If you ordered the BMPCC version.

Yeah, I am discussing this with my supplier right now.

But probably this means waiting for the next delivery of the BMPCC speedbooster in again 6 weeks from now. And my new sigma 18-35mm is biting the dust :(

As Adam Roberts already said, the BMCC speedbooster will work just fine on the Pocket, it's just that there are minor differences in reduction ratio and f-stop gain between the two adapters.

Unless the differences in focal length reduction ratio (0.58x vs 0.64x) and/or the extra 1/3 stop play a critical role for you, I would suggest to keep the BMCC version. This way you have the additional advantage of being able to use it on a 2.5k MFT mount BMCC if necessary.

Has anyone tried using a M42 or Pentax lens with a Nikon adapter on a speedbooster? Does it hit infinity focus?

I have a lot of M42 and one Pentax-K and i´m wondering if they will work ok.

M42 and Pentax lenses have shorter flange focal lengths than Nikon lenses.

They won't reach infinity on a Nikon camera so they won't do so on a Nikon Speed Booster.

You could try one of the M42 to Nikon adaptors with the correction lens in but they affect the image quality and I'm not sure they would fit between the rear element of the lens and the front element of the Speed Booster.

Both M42 and Pentax K mounts have register distance of 45.46 mm which is shorter than Nikon's 46.5mm, i.e. infinity focus is not possible with a glassless adapter.
There are plenty of optical adapters M42> Nikon F adapters containing additional glass to correct for infinity focus at the expense of image quality.
I have not yet tested any of them with Speed Boosters, but will definitely do so at some point.

M42 lenses are another reason I'm waiting for an MFT-EF mount Speedbooster. EF, Nikon, M42, C/Y, Olympus OM etc. would all (theoretically) work.

Just had a phone call with my supplier, next week a new delivery is expected and my BMCC version will be replaced.

I did try the BMCC version and it was really tight with my woodencam cage ground plate. Rather impossible for fast switching lenses when the speedbooster needs to be removed

Thanks guys.

Well... that´s disappointing... don´t know if i should wait for the ef-mft adapter... I only have one Nikon mount lens but it´s the best one, a Zeiss 25mm f/2. Either i buy the Nikon-MFT speedbooster and buy a couple new lenses or wait for the ef speedbooster...

One last question, will any Nikon lens work with the Nikon G-MFT speedbooster?

Unless required for some specific job, I will probably hold off buying a Speed Booster until the specs (reduction ratio and f-stop gain) of the EF version become available. Due to the shorter flange distance of EF mount, it would be more versatile for mounting any optics, including Nikons. At the same time, if there is a significant performance difference, the Nikon mount BM-specific versions might still be the way to go.

to Joao: any Nikon mount lens manufactured after 1959 should be physically compatible with the Speed Boosters.
