Purple flash frame when gaining up. ursa g2 broadcast

PostMon Mar 27, 2023 1:08 am

noticed something new after updating to latest firmware on one of my URSA broadcast g2.
When I gain up from 8db to 10db, I get a flash frame of solid purple.
Happens every time. It's on the output signal as well as the recording. But only between those gain levels.
Every other step up or down is fine...it's also there when I gain down from 10db to 8db. So it happens both ways.

I'm hesitant to upgrade my second camera at the moment.

I don't recall seeing this issue prior to the firmware update but I guess it's possible it was there out of the box.
We've only use this camera a handful of times.

thoughts??

If I remember correctly 10gb is second gain stage.
Ursa br g2 use same sensor of pocket6k with dual gamma stage.
Anyway should not do anything more to see less grain be cause you change stage, I had pocket 6k and often move in live from 4 to 12 db without colored flashing.
Try to downgrade firmware and if is still present this defect
Try to contact Blackmagic Design assistance.
