Carrying Around SSDs?

PostTue Jan 21, 2014 6:22 am

How do you guys transport them? I don't want to just toss them in a bag and let them whack around!

You can easily Google SSD cases. Some sell them as singles, or packs of cases such as BMD's own brand. Personally, I'd go with a nice Pelican.

This

It's called UK Ultra Box 408.
I put red and green tap on them, so I can see if they are full or empty.

I posted this I while back: http://www.adamroberts.net/blog/ssd-sto ... -you-bmcc/

I also use a similar system as Frank. If the label is facing up the SSD is formatted. If it's facing down is got footage on.

I also use the BM cases. But I like Frank's case/ solution. Found his case on Amazon, only $25!

Wow so professional! I just use something like this...
http://www.dinodirect.com/hdd-protectiv ... p-ssd.html

Not that particular brand but it was the same kind of case, and same price. Holds 2 SSD's and I just make sure I offload and format in the same sitting.. but I don't have a need for so much SSD's so, to each his own.. 8-)

Does this box come with those "rails" on the inside to hold the SSD? If not, where do I get them?

Are you sure that's the 408? It says it is 2 inches "high" inside...?

At least the sticker on the box says so.

There is only some sort of ribbed rubber layer in the box, but the SSDs are a bit too short to fit into those ribs, so I just used some foam dividers, from some pick and plug insert, I had laying around.

Can you take a picture of that? I'd like to do the same.

Thanks!
