No focus peaking on BMPCC with non-MFT lenses

PostSat Feb 08, 2014 7:56 am

When I use my BMPCC with non-MFT lenses with adapter focus peaking cannot be turned on.
Is it normal, or is it bug? Could anyone test with their cameras.

Depending on lens and situation (contrast), the "green pattern" might be very "weak" or not visible at all.

works perfect on mine

nikon / sigma lenses on speedbooster, peaking is perfect

for better view: sometimes when to much light, close diafragma a bit, or use focus zoom together with peaking: the green shows up better

Sometimes the green is really hard to see. Double click on the ok button to zoom in, you'll be able to see it better.

I haven't had any problem with focus peaking on any lens combo though I only use dumb lenses.

Peaking works fine with all my Leica M lens via adapter in BMPCC.

With autofocus (MFT) lenses you double-click the FOCUS button to get focus peaking.

With manual lenses you click the FOCUS button once to toggle focus peaking on and off.

See the manual, p. 24

Problem solved?

I'm using almost exclusively Canon FD lenses on mine and see the focus peaking.
