The Smallrig ones are. That was the whole point of using the same body.

I picked up the SmallRig 3517 for $70 and it fits great with two exceptions: there is a slight overhang on the front due to the shorter L-mount flange distance…and the position of the mounting point on top is different from the 6k Pro/G2, so the screw doesn’t countersink all the way, making it somewhat difficult to attach a top handle. But it works.

So thats what i heard but i got the Tilta G2 cage and that top screw was way off as well as the cage covered up the top record / function buttons.

The smallrig version is usable? im sure i can mount a nato rail handle to the side of the top screw for a handle rig.

Yep, the Smallrig 3517 works great. I put a short NATO rail right over the edge of the top mounting screw, not ideal because there’s a gap on the bottom, but my rig is fairly minimal (just v-mount plate/battery and tripod mount with rails).

Quick update to say that I shaved down a bit of the NATO rail adapter to fit over the top mounting screw and now it sits flush without canting forward. Feels a bit more secure now.

I am looking for the same, a Cage for the BMCC6K,

the small rig cage mentioned here I cannot find anywhere in europe ;(

Would the small rig half cage 3665 as well work maybe?

I want to adapt l-mount to PL-mount , so I need to fix the mount with some cage to make it sturdier. It is hard to find specific information about the BMCC6K online, everything from 6kpro etc pops up...

Nice, so the waiting has an end, has it? I m just researching into cages the first time and find that tilta might have a lot of proprietary connections, which makes me hesitant purchasing it. Anyone has experience with that? When I just get the basic cage, can I connect standard accessories from other companies like smallrig or 8sinn? for example i would like to use a top handle from another brand, another baseplate, etc..

I agree, I will either wait for the SmallRig one or a full cage by 8sinn. Even Shape is going to launch one...

I just purchased the MID49 cage, the $645 one, and I'm looking forward to using it. I just needed something next week and I just decided to get something fancy. I'm using the metabones pl to l adapter and the MID49 cage has a support built into it, plus it has the proper 15mm rail height to help with lens and accessory support.

It should be arriving today...

Just got the 6kFF rigged up with the MID49 cage.
It's really great. Like, the nicest, sturdiest build. I have every bit of confidence things will line up correctly and it will handle the rigors of set life.

I several shoots coming up where I'll be utilizing the 6kFF with wireless video, audio sync, wireless follow focus, etc. so I'm excited to utilize all the features this cage has.

In my opinion, worth the cost.

Adam, when you get it fully rigged for your shoot, would you snap a picture for us?

Adam thanks for your infos and impressions!

To have the pl-mount adapter attached to the cage permanently for me is a must. And looks like with tilta it is not possible.

the Mid49 is out of my price range so I m still waiting for options..

Mid49 cage for me is Marmite. Its nicely engineered but also not thought out well in a odd way. Its very usefull but at the same time I would hate using it.

Just a little update here: I got the 8sinn half cage and it assembled well and I am very happy with it for now! Great built quality. Plastic and bs free packaging when sent, I m still configuring stuff around to have a small form factor set up. I also ordered the 8 sinn top handle pro to be able to balance the camera well: It mounts via nato rail and can be adjusted.

edit: somehow the pictures are disappearing, now re-attached, lets see if this works..
