Quick Fix? Something overlooked? Color matching

PostFri Jan 26, 2024 8:57 pm

Hoping maybe someone has some experience to relay. I am working with three BM cameras on a number of videos in a series. Specifically, Ursa Mini Broadcast G2, BMPCC 6k Pro, and Ursa Mini Pro 4.5 (6.9 firmware braw).

The Broadcast and the 6KP are matching very closely. The Mini Pro is turning yellow to beige. I am shooting against a yellow wall backdrop. I am using four led lights by GVM (not terribly expensive) all tuned for 4000K and am doing an auto white balance on each camera using the white side of a grey card. All three cameras are calibrated to false color green on the grey side of the card. I've tried color warping and adjusting RGB individually with no success. The other thing that inhibits progress is that split window color matching will not work with a multicam configuration. I am using braw rev 5 on all cameras in DR. Workflow is managed color to wide gama to rec 709. If there is no fix, it's not the end of the world. This series will not be going to netflix, but I would love to conquer this if I could.

Does the Mini Pro record BRAW Gen 5 or Gen 4? If it’s Gen 4, do you have an option in Resolve / Camera Raw to select Gen 5?

However it may be better to add a Node.
You can do a Colour Space Transform (CST) in Resolve / Colour in a serial Node where you define the Input and Output Colour. CaptainHook recently described the settings.

It records gen 4 with the option in camera raw to select gen 5. I’ll do some searching and. See if I can find the captains settings.

Found it Rick! Of all things it was the lens. I was using Canon L Zooms on two cameras and a Rokinon 35 prime on the third. Canon's matched. Rokinon didn't. I had no idea.
