Question is in the title-

As some of you may have seen, we’re about to go in to production for our next short film and there are at least 2 shots that will require a zoom lens.

Does anyone have any recommendations for zooms that will cut in well with the APOs?

Thanks so much!

The Tokina 25-75mm CinemaATX zoom will do well. The Fujinon 20-120mm XK zoom even better. Both have a creamy look and glass similar to the SLR Magic. I think you’ll like either if you can find a rental.

Get Fujinon and rub in the fact that you have it and I don’t!

I can't speak to how the DZOFilm Pictor Zooms match to the SLR Magic lenses, but they held up pretty well against an Angenieux Optimo Zoom, which is 8-10X the cost per lens easily. Either way, I'm a big fan of the look of the Angenieux Optimo lenses, so I've been very happy with the DZOFilm Pictor Zooms.

I do second the Fujinon suggestion. Always loved working with Fujinon lenses when I work with them.

To be honest I’m between the DZO 35-80 and the Laowa Ranger 28-75

Tim, do you happen to know if the Catta can be put on a Speedbooster?

And thanks for the suggestions Rick!

Yes, Timbutt2’s suggestions are good as I believe they share that creamy slightly warm design look.

I haven’t tried putting in the lenses on with a speedbooster. I know that the Pictor lenses couldn’t go on a speed booster for the Pocket as the rear lens element would hit the glass element of the adapter.
