BMPC 4K: ISO RANGE?: ONLY 200-400-800 ASA?

PostSat Mar 01, 2014 7:30 pm

Dear people,

last week I bought the Black Magic Production Camera 4k.

I did some test and I start loving it more and more.

But I was faced with a "problem". I though installing the latest firmware would do but it didn't.

I am only able to choose between 3 ASA (ISO) levels: 200, 400 and 800.

Does anyone know why I can't go more than 800ASA? Or I am missing out something or doing something completely wrong?

Thanks in advance?

Is anyone experiencing this too?

For now, those are the only ISOs available. The native ISO is 400 and it's recommended to stick with that. I haven't done any testing of the other ISOs yet but will be doing some soon.

yes, the maximum is 800ASA, and I dont think any firmware will change that. its not a low light camera, so this is as far as it can go. and I wouldn't use 800ASA, because it gets very noisy. search the forum if you need more info about the noise that appear at 800ASA
