3.5mm Plug-in Power

PostMon Apr 08, 2024 11:41 am

Hello,
I would like to use a Stereo Pair Clippy EM272 microphone on a gimbal with 2 of my original BMPCC 6K cameras.

Does anyone know about a possibility get plug-in power to the 3.5mm stereo mic input?

Actually 3.5mm plug-in power is much lower voltage than phantom, typically between 3VDC and 5VDC, compared with 48VDC for phantom power. The BMPCC 6K should provide plug-in power through the 3.5mm jack but I haven't been able to quickly verify it on the camera spec sheet. You may have to check the manual.

The Clippy mics are available with either 3.5mm or XLR, so if you want to be sure you could get the XLR version.

The original BMPCC 6Ks have only one Mini XLR connector, that is why I am asking for 2.5V or 5V plug-in power on the 3.5mm stereo mic input.
A Clippy stereo pair would be wonderful for a gimbal setup.

Thanks
