there should be many options for rods. You know, these variations of rod clamps. One may need to add a quick release plate between this accessory and the Lidar, to have enough distance to the lens/mattebox.

There are plenty of companies that produce excellent accessories. This is just a random example:

The counter weight adapter we were talking about attaches directly to the camera plate; it is independent of a gimbal.

Edit: this looks like an accessory for rods

After playing around with the Focus Pro for a few days this feels like once again an unfinished product from DJI unfortunately. The LiDAR integration with the handset seems nonexistent and the calibration for Zoom lenses (especially non-parfocal ones) impossible. I believe this could potentially be a promising product, but the documentation is just so poor - the manuals are incredibly sparse.

Did anyone here manage to get the handset speaking to the high bright monitor? How do you calibrate zoom lenses when it only gives the option to calibrate a single focal length with only two distances?

Yes, this is the attachment Nitze made for the old LiDAR which is physically compatible, however the rod clamp faces in the wrong direction, needing a much more complicated setup than required. What I meant was a 15mm rod clamp that slides onto a single rod (ideally the same as the one the motors are mounted) and allows for attachment of the LiDAR directly above or below the camera. For the time being I used the M3 screws and the included 15mm rod clamp, but the offset is slightly off and the m3 screws a little small for the rod clamp.

Wont the dji lidar automatic focus work with a zoom lens parfocal or not?

Since I can only give it focus marks for a single focal length I don't see how it can work for non-parfocal ones. I have a Sigma 18-35 and if I calibrate it at 24mm, the LiDAR is spot on for that focal length but slightly off for other ones.

If I remember correctly you can save presets for several focal lengths/lenses, no? At least that way you could save 4 or 5 focal lengths along the zoom range.

I came across that video recently. I hope Smallrig makes a mass produced solution.

I got my focus pro a day before a shoot.
We were using SLR Magic APO Microprimes so the torque was needed.
We were locked off on a tripod for the majority of the shoot, but when we did some complicated moves we utilized the DJI Focus Pro.
It performed extremely well for our simple needs.
I mounted it under a matte box off the rails. Distance from sensor was 720mm.

Adam Langdon do you have a picture of your mounting setup?

Anyone else here successfully used it with a non-parfocal zoom?

This guy has also found a pretty creative way to rig the LiDAR

I'm pretty sure you can jump from one subject to the other but I've only tested this scenario once and it does show 2 boxes to go back and from to. Overall a great combo and feels really seamless to use!

Someone below the Youtube Video recommended the Ulanzi Coldshoe straps. They are 5 bucks instead of 500 for the single lens cuff featured in the video. Sure, they are not really comparable, but for the purpose of mounting the LiDAR close to the lens, they seem to fit the bill. Went ahead and ordered one on Aliexpress.
