Hi, I have a ursa mini pro g1 and 3 deity devices with time code.
The problem is that the ursa can just read the external time code when the cable is “half in” don’t know how to say that in English.
I’m using a 3.5mm to bnc. The bnc is just fine, the problem is in the 3.5mm jack that goes on the timecode box. If I put it all the way down ( the way it should be) the ursa can’t read ext tc.
Then when I loose the cable a little bit, just half the way the “ext” mark appears on ursa screen. I’ve tried with 3 different devices and 3 different cables.
I also tried to connect one tv box to another directly with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable and works fine, solid, cable connects and lock perfectly.
The problem is just with all the 3.5mm to b c cables and/or with the ursa mini.

It appears the output is stereo 3.5mm; designed primarily for DSLR LTC Mic/Line inputs. They do make a locking adaptor for BNC (https://shop.deitymic.com/collections/timecode/products/c15); and it says it is compatible with the Ursa Mini. Are you using that one? Or have you tried it? I would imagine despite the stereo jack the TC signal is only coming from one pole, hence your issue, possibly.

Alternatively you could try a mono 3.5mm jack and solder it yourself - I can't imagine the BNC requires stereo, I may be wrong though: https://www.mlec.co.uk/locking-mono-jack-plug

Change the output of the Deity to Line.

thanks! I thought about that, i bought this one from deity(actually i bought it on ali express) and didn't work, so i bought another one, and doesn't work too.

think i need to do one by myself with mono 3.5mm.

Mine have two black lines, how do i know if it is mono or stereo?

i couldn't find this option. When the device is in TC box mode, there no option for that, i can just change the level in Voltage, fro 05v to 2v i think, but it change nothing. -/

A stereo jack has a ground tip and 2 poles; a mono a tip and 1 pole; and then there's often for balanced audio, TRRS with 3 poles:

Go to the manual, page 8

I should add, after you've tried Justin's suggestion first; and before you go to the trouble of making up your own cable, buy that cable from Diety directly; the Aliexpress one is unlikely to be a genuine one.

Great advice Steve. I actually thought he was using the Deity cable already.
