Blackmagic is silent on any future update plans. Always.
The last firmware update for the 4.6K G2 was August 2019. It's nearly been 5-Years. Ironically it is still available for sale and still offered as a current product. So could a firmware update happen? Sure. Will it, I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Many of us have asked for a firmware update with Gen5 Color Science and some of the other new features in the firmware to come. Even the older Pocket 4K has gotten more updates than the UMPG2.
If the Pocket 4K can do it the UMPG2 can do it. So it's not a hardware limitation since the UMPG2 is easily more powerful than the P4K.

ya'll all probably right but it sure would be nice to have a few of the updates like the Gen 5 Color Science and ability to review the clips and delete them. The cloud upload might be an issue but it would be nice too.

I bought the mini 4.6k G2 earlier this year beacuse i've been loving the pocket 4k for over 5 years now and thought the Ursa would be a great update for my arsenal mantaining my current BRAW Workflow while expanding dynamic range and the ease of use of a "Pro" camera.
Turns out the camera is the only one Blackmagic currently sells which hasn't recieved an update in almost 4 years, lacking in Gen5 color, Gyro data, a wider range of constant quality Braw compression, and worst of all, isn't compatible with current ssd like t7 or recent, forcing you to fetch discontinued drives like the t5.
Also the fact that it dropped 3k to half its price later in the year was quite the slap in the face. I mean at least you could give a reply if a firmware update is just not possible for whatever reason.
I love blackmagic products, and its drive as a company to change the industry by allowing smaller crews to step up to bigger companies with far lower budgets. The newer Ursa's look great, but you could give the 4.6k the firmware update it deserves to achieve its full potential.
