Latest Firmware

PostMon Jun 17, 2024 12:38 am

Hello everyone! First time on the forums, and I apologize if it's been asked recently. Where can I find the current firmware version on the BMCC 6K, and a link to the downloads page for latest firmware?

Thanks much!

Head to the support page on BMD’s website and click on the “cameras” button. Couldn’t be easier.

go to the main BMD webpage

go to Support webpage

click on the leftmost Products button; that will refresh the three scrollable columns in a table below

then download the latest Camera Update in the leftmost column to you Downloads folder on a Mac or equivalent folder on a PV; updates for all cameras are actually included

expand the download and select the erase camera setup icon to remove any previous updates on your computer’s Application folder on a Mac or equivalent on a PC

using a USB-C data cable, plug in your camera to the computer

select the update camera setup icon to load the latest firmware on your computer

select the Camera Setup app in your Applications folder, the program will detect your camera and tell you if you already have the latest firmware on your camera and you don’t need to update

if the Camera Setup finds a later version of the firmware it will begin to update your camera (be patient as it may appear to hang about 70% of the way though the update but it’s still working)

the Camera Setup will inform you of the new firmware installed.

If a later version is buggy, you can manually scroll through that leftmost column of updates and install an earlier version.

I had some issues with the Beta on my P4K. Had to downgrade the firmware.

Choose well.

Did not realize you could downgrade, on many camera platforms you can't. Good to know, thanks Jim!
