Blackmagic camera for android on Pixel 7, video and audio out of sync for approx. 5 frames, video delayed. Recording 3840x2160, H265 Main 10 L6.0, audio 48 kbs (same with 44.1 kbs). Same after resetting phone. Editing in DaVinci Resolve 18.6 Studio
What is wrong?
Thanks' Marko

Can’t tell from your description whether it’s the issue, but smartphones are variable rather than constant frame rate. There are a good number of forum discussions about this in relation to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. If you aren’t familiar with the issue, those discussions may be helpful.

You can get MediaInfo (free) and check how much your phones varies the frame rate.

Marko,

Read the previous discussions that Uli and others have had about this, and note how Uli did his testing. What you’re describing may be a Pixel 7 frame rate issue, or it could be an issue about how the Blackmagic Camera app and your phone are interacting.

Finally, if you are on a Mac, Dwaine from BM has confirmed a bug with some phone footage that may or may not be related. They expect to fix that one in the next beta.
It might be interesting or even helpful for others to post the VFR values from your phone. For comparison: the iPhone 15 varies between 59.940 and 60.181 fps when set to 60 fps and stabilization is off.

Tanks' for reply's. These are result from Mediainfo: Frame rate: 25 FPS, Min frame rate 22.455, Max frame rate 28.099. This must be the problem.

My opinion was that Blackmagic uses only hardware from phone camera and the frame rate is set to fix value from settings in Blackmagic Camera. Obviously it s not so and the problem of audio and video sync can only be solved by moving audio track manually in DaVincy Resolve.

Thank's to all, Marko

It seems that BM can't really fix that. I have yet to see a smartphone with CFR.
If you are into music, rather get a camera. OTOH, the iPhone 15 was off by only one frame after an hour in my tests, but only with the stabilizer inactive.
