file transfer from Cinema Camera to PC

Hello,

I've got the Cinema Camera 6K FF and it has a USB-port. So if I have my CF-card inserted in the camera, can I use the USB-port to transfer my files to my PC?
When I connect the camera to the PC, it is shown in the explorer-windows, but no files are listed.
In the network page of the camera-settings, the camera may have a IP-number. So I guess, that you can use a USB-to-ethernet-adapter, and then connect the camera to the ethernet-port of the PC and connect both this way. But how would I have to configure the PC and the camera to get this workflow?
Can anybody give a description, how to get this working?

Thanks a lot!

Usbc to usbc is still a network connection. It’s likely you need to go to the network settings and configure the device. The same with usbc/network adapters. Use the camera setup utility and make sure ftp/smb connections etc., are allowed, this will also give you the camera’s ip/ftp/smb address.

Good Luck

No report of successfully attaching a BMD camera to a PC for file transfer has ever surfaced here, at least not to my knowledge, in 8 or 9 years.

The obvious solution -- a card reader -- isn't workable?

I believe the feature was first added last year in 8.2. Different cams may require different FW versions, it’s probably avalable for most cams save the UMPG2. It’s a key element in C2C workflows.

Good Luck

This works for the URSA Cine camera.

I believe the plan was for it to work the same for the cinema camera but I’ve not tested it.

Yes.

BRAW and Proxy both.

Ethernet cable and wifi too.

I believe a USB-C hotspot dongle works too but I haven’t tried that yet.
