This camera is not even out yet, and some guy is out there posting reviews complaining about a 60 watt power draw. Can anyone substantiate this?

I have seen these claims made, but from what I can tell, they're all based on the info that the camera is supplied with a 60W AC adaptor as per the specs. No one has actually tested the actually power draw of the camera itself as far as I can tell. Given the fact that the Pyxis seems to be based on the BMCC 6K, I don't see what in the camera would create the need for that much of a power draw difference. We'd need more info and testing.

If that's where they're getting it from then it definitely doesn't use 60w. Power supplies that come with devices are always rated for like twice what the device uses, partly to catch spikes but also so it can charge a battery while powering a camera, provide phantom power via XLR, and powering a USB device. The Pocket 4K comes with a 30W AC adapter and it uses like 17W max.

The BMCC6K only comes with a 36W adapter so the PYXIS can use more but it doesn't mean does use more. The PYXIS has twice as many CFExpress slots and USB-C ports, an Ethernet port, and built in live-streaming capabilities so it has more to potentially power simultaneously.

Agree and that’s good news that there’s higher capacity for other devices in the rig.

Especially useful if they add a 2500 nit articulating touchscreen powered from the front usbc.

Good Luck

Saw that the URSA Cine 12K has a 250 watt power adapter. That’s impressive.

I can substantiate that a lot of "content creators" make their wage by posting clickbait, yes.

And if you connect your camera power supply to a European power outlet - that one is rated for 3600W!
OMG! :o
