A few frames from Ursa Cine 12K

PostTue Jul 23, 2024 2:21 am

Here are some still frames from some lens tests on the Ursa Cine 12K. There’s a few different combinations going on, some are more portrait and some less so. Graded in Resolve with Film Look Creator.

Quick impressions: the camera is beyond incredible. The fidelity, detail, usability are fantastic.

The embedded ones are for desktop view but I've also added mobile versions that I think looks better for OLED/Mini-LED devices at this link:

Thanks, Note. That 5K-A evocative shot belongs in a movie!

These look stunning! Can't wait to have more footage from this camera released into the wild.

I'm saying it now: this is the camera of the year!

Note, is it possible to get an ‘original’ raw still of that A shot? I noticed your sample was sRGB with a LUT which has a limited dynamic range. I’d like to grade it myself for HDR 4K ST2084 PQ and use as my Mac wallpaper.

Hi Note! Thanks for these... I was wondering, since you've played with this camera and the original Ursa 12k, how do they differ image wise in your opinion?

In my opinion there are significant--incredibly, incredibly positive--differences across the board.

During the NAB keynote and NAB interviews there were mentions about making a dream camera tech--this very much feels like it.

A few frames from Ursa Cine 12K

Okay, Note, understand.

Can’t wait to see some sample raw when the camera is released! Sounds like the URSA Cine 12/17K will be the equivalent of a grand slam home run!

I should download at least the RAW Clip 2 from the website as it looks like it will be a good clip to generate a HDR grade.

Wow. That's really exciting, the Ursa Mini 12k image is pretty amazing. The Ursa Cine is not in my price range, but very exciting.

Thanks for the stills... very cinematic for sure! I wonder how many 12k 2024 cameras have been delivered currently? I haven't found any releases of finished production examples in the wild from this camera, and it's almost August?

Love this Note. Curious how were you set up when you shot it? Also, just a side question, how do you like the media?

Do you mean in terms of lighting or via handheld/sticks?

The first is after sunset with a small negative on one of the sides
The second has a large negative on camera right
The third has an IntellyTech Mega Cloth 8 through 8' Magic Cloth (wag) on camera right + negative on camera left.

Wow, i'm so excited to see footage from this camera !

Those stills are gorgeous Note !

While the 12K will be a rental only, I can only wish for a 7K$ / V-mount / owner operator style version of this sensor.

Those colors, the roll off, that looks insane !
