BMCC 4K - Change Interval to Overcrank

PostThu Apr 03, 2014 1:44 am

Hello,

Just throwing this out there...I am coming from the idea of how we used to be able to load Scene Files onto the P2(HVX Series) with text files that had exact parameters in Hex to alter the Interval time.
Basically my thought is, if you have your base FPS (23.976-30) and then you have your interval timing(2sec-30s) I'm wondering if you can upload a "file" via USB to have it go over the 30f threshold. Essentially forcing the camera to bombard the SSD at 60f over the base FPS.

Is this feasible?

This issue goes deeper than having an overcrank setting. It's more a matter of what the hardware can or can't do.

For example, you can repaint the speedometer on your car to go up to 1000 MPH, but that won't make the car faster?

Maybe there is room for overcranking and we'll see it in a firmware update and maybe not, but thinking of a way to trick out the interface isn't the issue.

Agreed with the analogy. Firmware updates...bummer
