BUG: URSA Mini Pro Firmware 8.2 & Beyond

PostMon Sep 02, 2024 2:16 pm

So it seems that the URSA Mini Pro (G2) doesn't automatically update date and time when plugged into the computer via USB-C and you have Blackmagic Camera Setup open ever since Firmware 8.2 and beyond. It works fine if I downgrade to Firmware 8.1 for the Setup software. I can't say whether this effects the G1 or 12K models, but I would guess it could also be happening with them.

This is one of the methods I keep the date and time accurate with my UMP and Pocket cameras at the start of a shoot day. For now I'm keeping my laptop on 8.1 for the UMP and using the iPhone with the Pocket since Firmware 8.6 Beta allows the Pocket to get date and time from the cell phone. Since my laptop and cell have the exact date and time this works.

I would love if this can be addressed in a future firmware update with a bug fix primarily for the later Camera Setup to still support Automatic Date & Time update for the URSA Mini Pro models, specifically the G1 & G2.

The main reason Date & Time is important for me is that then the files have the correct naming with regards to the recording date/time. I use Timecode with the Deity TC-1 on each individual camera for syncing purposes.

Thank you for addressing this!
