Ursa 12k Olpf opinion?

PostThu Sep 12, 2024 5:55 pm

So I have the original ursa 12k and I really like it. I have run into two issues however (pretty rare, but they happened and I was not happy):

1. Moire
2. Blacks showed up brown.

I assume sending the camera in to modify it with the OLPF would fix these issues. I emailed blackmagic and they said it would cost $650.

Should I go for it?”

If you want to save a couple hundred bucks you could get one from Rawlite and install it yourself. I did so on my 4.6k G2 and it was totally worth the trouble (and not actually that much trouble.)

When I modded my Ursa Mini 4.6K with a Rawlite OLPF it was almost like getting a new camera. I cannot recommend it enough.

Get the official OLPF. It feel like a new camera over the OG 12K
