Blackmagic Camera App 2.0 remote monitoring lag is unusable

Has anyone figured out hot to fix the terrible lag when using an iPad to remote monitor the BM Camera app from the iPhone when recording? I specify while recording because it's fine any other time. I'm not talking about a simple delay but it's almost like 2 frames per second right now. I've tried different codes thinking that might be what's making the stream from one device to the next so slow and it has no bearing on the lag at all. I can't imagine that it was released knowing the lag was so bad so there has to be something going on that's causing it. I'm hoping this is user error.
