BMCC External Recorder?

PostSun Apr 06, 2014 4:19 pm

I'm relatively new to external recorders, but seeing a few videos yesterday about the Q7 and the FS700 it got me quite excited. Would/is something like this available for the BMCC? A recorder which can record at a higher framerate, different codecs etc? Would it be technically possible for BMD to release one that can record say 120fps 2K or something? :)

I asked about this a while ago.

We know the sensor is capable of higher frame rates, however, single SSD recording is definitely tapped out. If there are no other limitations with internal components, then this is something BM should be able to do in firmware.

It would definitely be a worthwhile update that would give new life to their already shipped cameras.
