Bluetooth+ App playback Issues

Upgrading our BMPC6K FW to 8.7 seems to have broken the playback function when triggered through Bluetooth+. Now when you trigger playback, it launches the first clip on the reel based on take number instead of the clip you just recorded. That causes us to have to click through every previous clip to get to the last one shot for playback. The right 'next clip' button and left 'previous clip' buttons seem to be reversed. Even more annoyingly, all this seems to be based on metadata take numbers rather than clip or file numbers. When you shoot a ton of clips all marked Take 1 (as in the case of not setting takes to auto-advance), or 99 (as in the case of forgetting to reset the takes to 1, or going over 99 takes), it still starts playback at the first clip on the reel, but then just randomly picks the next clip to display when you hit the back button.

It's a bit annoying and the developer doesn't seem to be around anymore. I sent them a message through their website a week or two ago and got no response. I sent them an email using the email on their site and got an undeliverable error.

Is there any other solution to trigger remote recording and playback? We just need this for one person filmed vlog set-ups so we we don't even really need all the camera controls, just record, playback, clip selection and maybe focus. The official BM app seems to lack playback altogether and has not focus control.

I just tried their Mac app, and it's even worse. Playback button triggers playback on the camera but there's no playback control on the app : /

If you download the camera SDK (https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/develo ... cts/camera) they have a couple included Mac apps as samples. I don't remember if they have playback control, but maybe one of these would work for you.

I think you can connect over Bluetooth, USB or Ethernet.
