Recording Limit Blackmagic Camera App iOS

The Blackmagic Camera App for iOS version 2.0 apparently has a recording limit of 4 hours. Is anyone else experiencing this and does anyone know of a workaround?

I'm running V2.0 of the app on an iPhone SE running iOS 18. v1.2x of the app worked fine, but v2.0 now has the recording limit. At 4 hours exactly, no matter what other settings, the recording simply stops. Battery power is not the issue; I have an external power supply and it isn't near exhausted. This seems like a bug to me.

I primarily use the app for time-lapse photography, thus the long recording times. I still have v1.2x running on my iPad mini with iOS 18, so it doesn't appear to be on the iOS side. Of course Apple forbids any process to revert to the earlier version of an app once updated, so I'm screwed there.

I'd appreciate any help or insight into what's going on. The iPhone size is ideal for time-lapse work in the field and long recording times are a must.

That’s very unexpected as BMD normally doesn’t restrict recording times for their cameras. I thought the same approach would apply to the Blackmagic Cam app.

Genuinely I think there is no way or solution for the 4- hours time limit. It's also worth noting that Blackmagic Camera allows recording to external SSDs for longer recording times. Blackmagic should release a patch or update to resolve the 4-hour recording limit soon.
