long time listener, first time caller ;)

first details:
BlackMagic 6K running software 7.9.1
Macbook pro running Mac OS Monterrey 12.7.6

Problem:
any firmware update i try to do beyond 7.9.1, crashes the camera and an a popup indicates failure or cannot find camera. at the point i have to unplug camera and remove the battery for it to power back on.

i have tried all updates up to and including 8.7. i have tried to install each update consecutively but the process persists at 8.1 . i have tried plugging the power directly to an outlet. i have tried different cables and different ports. including deleting previous installs. problem persists.

checked online on different groups, did not find a solution. thank you for any help,

CabmaN
ps:
camera works great and have not had any problems in the field. trying to set up camera as a web cam (will be geting a video capture card)

When you update the Camera Setup program on the Macbook, do you use the appropriate icon to Uninstall the app first? After a successful Uninstall, then you can execute the Update for Camera Setup.

If you are already following that procedure:
Are you open to updating your macOS? I don’t know if it will help, but hopefully it’s an option. But I would not upgrade to macOS 15 Sequoia yet. I’d suggest going to Sonoma macOS 14.
