PYXIS ISSUE

Hello,

I recently purchased the Blackmagic PYXIS, I started to test the camera and found a strange issue:

When I playback the footage and press the REC button to go back to the live feed, the screen becomes black and a glitchy bar appears, followed by a "click" sound.
I was testing the camera using a CF Express Type B 512GB from Angelbird (on the approved list), powering the camera from a battery (SWIT LB-SU90C).
Also tried with another battery (same SWIT), with D-TAP and AC, same result.

Here is a link to a Google Drive folder with a video to demonstrate:

Is this happening to anybody else??
Thanks

The exact same glitch and click is happening on mine. I just got mine today. I have lexar golds which are approved. Occurs on both the BPUs and when it plugged in the 12v.

No, camera is brand new, I just took it out of the box, tested at home and found the issue

I don't think its a glitch.

The "click" sound appears also when you switch audio source (camera internal mic to xlr).

That "click" was the same when I switched from BRAW to PRORES on my URSA G2. That must be a electronic component or something.

As for the "glitch" on the screen, pretty sure it will be fixed, but its just a residual image from a blackout screen when the camera system is switching from playback to record mode.

Just my personal conclusions but let the blackmagic folks answer on that mater.

I hope so! I’m in touch with BM right now, so I’ll wait them for solutions. Thank you for sharing

It's curious that only some PYXIS users are reporting it. Unless the non-reporters just haven't noticed it?

Hi,

The "click" sound is part of the audio circuitry relay and completely normal. I wouldn't be worried about it.

On PYXIS, the camera does a quick reboot between capture and playback so that the glitch can be expected and there's nothing wrong with your camera. We are definitely looking to see if we can make it switch cleaner, but it doesn't affect the functionality of the camera.
