Switching between 24/50fps HFR Mode - Timecode on BMPCC6k

Hey guys,

I'm new to BMPCC6k's timecode features. I have a shoot coming up where I'm working with an audio guy who works with tentacles equipment and want to be prepared for the options we have. We are recording a two person walk and talk (mainly 24fps), with lots of start stops and mixing in grabbing b-roll in HFR mode (50fps)

-If we sync timecode at the beginning to 24fps, do we need to resync each time I switch to HFR mode? Is it an option to retain the synced audio on the high frame rate clips in case we want to conform them to regular speed (24fps) clips in post?

-once I switch back to regular 24fps from HFR, will the timecode remain synced to those clips?

Thanks guys

HFR will record audio at the normal speed, so ending early when doing slo-mo. But audio is never perfectly in sync if recorded by HFR.

correction, I now plan to just change the frame rate, and NOT enter HFR mode--will this allow syncing>?

No.

HFR mode isn’t sync accurate, as many people have learned by accident.

You can’t retime it and expect it to hold sync.
