PostThu Oct 17, 2024 1:55 pm

Hi, after a few day shooting i have trouble with my URSA Viewfinder. Screen looks blue many time if i don't adjust SDI position in slot with my finger. I can see the image just if keep my finger on the SDI always. Could be solved this issue at home? How can be disassembled SDI cable?

Are you mounting quality SDI cables properly? You have to rotate the sleeve to lock the connector in place.

As issues go it fairly common. It’s simple to reterminate a BNC connector but the correct crimper and die (Paladin PA8049) runs about $70. There are lots of inexpensive crimpers but none of them seem to have the .178” die required for the sleeve or the proper pin crimp.

I had this happen with my U12K. It's only going to get worse, and sort of a nightmare. I wasn't sure it was the viewfinder or the camera so I rented another viewfinder from LensRentals. It didn't work either, so both camera and viewfinder were sent back for repair separately because one was slightly out of warranty. When they both came back, I still had the blue screen but found that the SDI type setting was incorrect. Then everything worked so I never found out which was broken or what was fixed.
