First time out with the Ursa Cine EVF and Handle on Pyxis

PostSun Oct 20, 2024 3:30 pm

Hey everyone,

I just took the new Ursa Cine EVF and Handle out for the first time on a quick test shoot this weekend so I thought I'd share a bit of my first impressions here.

Really enjoying it so far :) Very comfortable and easy to use.

Did a mix of tripod shooting with a long lens, and handheld / run and gun footage of my son.
It was quite helpful in bright daylight since I couldn’t really see the monitor when it was facing the sun.

I love the extended arm, so quick to attach and great position to use it in.
I also love the fact that the whole kit fits in my Tenba bag even with a 70-200 attached!
It makes for a very nice combo with the Pyxis.

The handle is also very well made and it feels great. That combined with the EVF it makes for a very comfortable and adjustable combo.
And just the handle on the Pyxis is great as well and it feels super well balanced and I’m most likely going to use this one as much as I can instead of my smallrig top handle.

I think they’re probably the best accessories I have had from Blackmagic, quality really is amazing! (I had the previous handle on my UMP and I used the previous gen of the EVF)

Can’t wait to start using this combo for documentary and outdoor shooting.

I will do a dedicated video on both once I have used them enough:

Hope you’re having a nice weekend.

Cheers,
Flo
