PYXIS incorrectly recognizes BP-U battery status

Hi together,

recently received the Pyxis. Does anyone here has the same issue?

If the camera switches off automatically based on the assumption that the BPU battery is empty, the BP-U battery actually still has 50% remaining capacity. If I operate the Pyxis via 2pin Lemo and Dtap-Out from the BPU battery with 50%, it also works.

The conclusion from this is that it must be a camera software error.
Does anyone have the solution? Are there others with the problem? Please also report people who do not have the problem. That helps too!
The error occurs with SWIT as well as Pantona BP-U batteries. Pyxis has the newest firmware update installed 9.1.1 (also before firmware update the problem was there).

Thank you very much in advance!
Jona

Hi,

We're initially conservative on the battery level thresholds when the camera shuts off for battery protection and will improve this in the upcoming software update.

Best regards

Kristian

Hi Kristian,

thanks for fast reply.

Thanks for checking this and implementing in new firmware.
Do you know when we can expect a firmware update? Just for me so I know how often I check your webseite for updates :-)

Thanks and greetings from germany
Jona

What is the voltage level reading in the battery icon when you run it from the d-tap/lemo when your battery is showing 50% on its own LED?

At 50% power we have:
- Voltage powered direct from bp-u with dtap/2pin lemo 14.0V

Additional info:
- Voltage powered direct from blackmagic camera 14.2V (little higher maybe because battery lost after that some power to 14V, see the first point)
