New Battery for BMCC EF & BMPC4k

PostWed Apr 09, 2014 9:09 am

An idea for Blackmagic and/or accesories makers.
Why not take advantage of the space in front of the camera on the EF models? . It is known , more battery is needed.
I hope , anyone who could do it send me one free of charge for the idea .. :P

I´m sure, we prefer this solution instead of a big rig with an V-Battery or anoter battery accesory on the button of the BM...

Great design But I would have felt better if Tom Majerski had designed it. He has a way with these things!
One problem with that design is to use the camera you really need a cage and many cages use that space too

So, Tom if you're listening Draw this for us. maybe BM's design team could make some third party accessories instead.

The battery should function as a cage with screw holes and a cheese plate that fits on the top and bottom so you could attach it to the camera with front and side 1/4" and 3/8" threads for peripherals and have it come with a removable handle. Also could have rail attachments and a place for a shoulder mount to be secured as well as rosettes for handles. I would also like to see the 10" monitor become available that attaches to the battery cage and rotates and swivels.

It is a poor drawing of course. The important is the idea.
The attachment should be better to do it by a thin but solid plate and the screws of the buttom ( BM and the Battery accesory) . Dont like the idea of needing a external cage to srewing anything else.

Only with the buttom place could be solid , and with minimal space use.
