BMCC6K, no gyro stabilization

PostTue Nov 26, 2024 9:36 pm

Hi, I've bought the BMCC6K today and I noticed that there isn't gyro stabilization in all my clips.
Resolutions and FPS used: 6K 2.40 50fps, 4K DCI 50fps.
Firmware 8.6

It's a shame don't have gyro on this camera.

You need to calibrate the gyro sensor first.
There is an option in the camera menu under SETUP.

Gyro data can only be used if the lens OIS is switched off. Lens OIS does render gyro data useless.
Then you can stabilize your footage in Davinci Resolve by using the gyro data.

This information can also be found in the user manual for your camera.

Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.

I found it needs to be switched off in the camera menu as well. The hardware switch on the lens isn't enough.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

I believe you should also enter your Lens in the metadata

Definitely, since you can't add it in post. Why BM?
