INTEL SSD ISSUES WITH BMCC
Posted: Sat Apr 12, 2014 9:38 pmI bought the Intel 520 240GB SSD in August of last year. It lasted for 3.5 months before it failed on me. I chalked the experience up to faulty drive and bad luck. Intel customer service was great about replacing the drive, and I purchased another as a backup. On every shoot since then, I rotated the drives so that they each received an equal amount of use. After 3.5 months, both drives failed within one week of each other. It seems these drives are highly unreliable and have a short life. All three drives literally failed at 3.5 months. Anyone else have a similar experience? Any advice as to what SSDs I should use instead? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Love my BMCC, but the issues with the SSDs is making me consider switching to a new camera with more reliable media storage devices.
