Video Assist

PostTue Dec 03, 2024 3:52 pm

Hi all, I have just got myself a Video Assist 12G to use with my BM 4 and 6K but Im get a "Codec not supported' message when I switch it to Braw. Pro Res not a problem. It has the latest Firmwater of 3.17. Am I missing something or have I got a bad one?
Thanks

It is very strange :D but you cannot record BRAW out of Blackmagic cameras with the Video Assist. The HDMI output of the 4K and 6K is limited to HD only also...

Braw video assist is thought to no Blackmagic Design camera only.
You have since twenty different cameras from that you can record braw.
Check the spec in the video assist manual.

Well first of all the camera would need to have a physical 4K output, 3G isn't fast enough.

Then the camera would need to output raw data over said non-existent 4K output.

Good Luck

Well - it has 12G, but still no RAW output over it...

How do you figure the output is 12G? 1080/60 10 bit 4:2:2 is 3G.

Our cameras record Blackmagic RAW internally without requiring an external device.
