External Monitor camera control for 6K FF Cinema Camera

I was wondering if anyone had tried connecting the Portkeys monitors (ideally the BMD5 iii) to the Cinema 6K Full Frame via bluetooth? I reached out to Portkeys directly who said that it might work - but they hadn't tested it - and I spoke to BMD and they suggested I ask on the forum.

I'm looking for an external monitor that I can use with the full frame 6K cinema camera that allows me to monitor the footage and also control the camera. BMD said the PYXIS monitor might in the future but not now, and I'm not aware of any other monitors that do this other than Portkeys.

Blackmagic release one new monitor for Pyxis camera. That will be nice it it works with BMCC 6K FF since it has everything that you need to monitor footage and control the camera. Does it work?

Absolutely. The Pyxis monitor would be ideal. Sadly I reached out to Blackmagic and they said that it’s currently only compatible with the Pyxis and Ursa. Hoping they adapt it to cover the 6K FF soon. I love the screen on the FF but my ideal rig blocks it with a V Mount so it would be great to have camera control on a seperate monitor.

Yes that’s a very good solution. I reached out to BMD and they said that sadly the new monitor will only work with the Pyxis and Ursa. I am hoping they’ll modify it to work with the 6K FF cinema camera but will have to wait and see. I love the screen on the cinema camera but sadly the best rig configuration I’ve settled on for balance and weight has a V lock obscuring it.

Yes, that would be absolutely great and change things a lot.
