UC17K sensor size chart?

PostThu Jan 09, 2025 11:13 pm

When the UC12K was announced, this chart started making the rounds:

Anyone know if there’s a similar one available for the UC17K?

UC17K sensor size chart?

That will probably be available when the Cine 17K is released. If there’s something specific you need to know, it’s easy to calculate 17K dimensions, the height is identical to the Cine 12K and the width is likely 17520 x 0.0029 = 50.808mm. Height 8040 x 0.0029 = 23.316mm. Diagonal 55.9mm.

In this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=213889

I posted my interpretations based on the current released tech specs and the Data Calculator on the URSA Cine Page:

Sure thing Rick! I also updated my Number document to recreate the style of the CineD document. I created a duplicate of the 12K one in Numbers, and then used that to create a 17K one. Now, I'm still missing some values of Max FPS and Readout, but this seems to be my interpretation of the Windows for the 17K based on available information. I will correct and fill in when Blackmagic provides more details.

There's some issues in Tim B's chart which make some of that info incorrect.

We are working on an official version.

Hey Tim! Thank you for giving us all an update. Sorry that some of the information in my chart is incorrect. I'll definitely correct it when you guys share the right data.

I know I had some transfer issues adapting a different styling. So, I'll double check my values.

Super excited for Blackmagic Design with this sensor accomplishment!
