BMPCC 6k G2 external drive not showing in VA12G7 monitor

PostTue Jan 14, 2025 10:40 pm

I have a BMPCC 6K G2 with a 7" 12G HDR monitor. The camera writes to an external Samsung T7 1TB drive. I see the drive on the camera's LCD, but it does not show up on the external monitor. I"m confused; please advise.

Is it the same mode? (One seems in playback mode…)
Are you using USB HUB?

The top screen is the media for the Video Assist.

If you had the VA mirror what was shown on the camera, it would just show the camera's output feed, which will show the drive at 3.

You are confusing them as they both use the Blackmagic style OS for their menus.

Yeah it's far from mirror. I'm not familiar with Video Assist Recorder/monitor if it merges camera info into one UI overlay or something, but my smallhd monitor shows exactly one to one mirror. Obviously the mirroring depends what is selected in camera HDMI OUT settings...

Ok, yes the VA12G7must be in media mode; how do I get out of that mode so the VA mirrors the camera LCD? I'd really like to see my external SSD from the VA. Thank you!

It does not.

They are looking at the Video Assist's menu and not the camera's menu.

You should be able to swipe up on the screen if it's like the regular touchscreen.
