BPU battery recommendation for Pyxis and Ronin

PostSun Jan 19, 2025 12:51 pm

Ok. I am using the Core 98x batteries with my Pyxis. I love the fact I can just charge them using a USBC cable and my MacBook charger.

I need to mount my Pyxis on a DJI Ronin RS4 pro for a project. Even with quite a bit of counterweights and I have to move the Pyxis so far back that the size of the BPU 98 battery hits the frame, so it’s a no go. I am using a PL mount Pyxis and a DZO 25mm Vespid lens.

Has anyone tried this before and knows what is the biggest size battery that might fit?

I could order a couple of 30 or 35 as I’m sure they will be fine but then the next question is.. does anyone make a BP-U battery that a 30 or 35 and can be charged via USBC instead of needing a whole external charger setup?

Thanks as I have about a week before I need to completely sort this out.

Cheers,
Corey

I've also been looking for BPU35 charged via USBC, but nothing so far.

You could attach a V-Mount battery to the the side of the RS4 and run a cable to the Pyxis. But you'd have to check to make sure the cable doesn't get caught. It wouldn't work with a 360 roll.

But it would reduce weight on the arm, which could possibly help extend the life of the motors.
