Hi all,

I am looking for opinions on Olympus M.Zuiko 7-14mm f2.8 for video.
I'm shooting with 2x BMPCC4K + 1x BMMSC4KG2 with Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8, Olympus 12-100mm f/4 and Samyang 12mm T/2.2 and I find the Samyang tooooooo soft for my taste at around T7.0 from a distance of 2-3 meters (should be like 7-10 feet for our North American fellows out there), where most of my shootings take place.
So I am looking for a replacement of the Samyang lenses with the before mentioned Olympus M.Zuiko 7-14mm f2.8. Will I get sharper images? Any other lenses I should consider within the price range of the Olympus M.Zuiko 7-14mm f2.8?

Daniel, I do own the Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 and use it with my PCC4K.
It’s a fantastic lens, very sharp even at f2.8
Chromatic aberrations are well contained.
But like all MFT lenses from bigger brands like Olympus or Panasonic there is no optical barrel distortion compensation. But that can be handled in post.
It has a similar barrel distortion at 7mm as the 12-100mm f4 at 12mm, while from 10mm and above lines are quite straight.

All in all it is a nice companion to the 12-100mm and I am glad I bought it.

I also own that lens. Due to the convex front element no standard screw-on filters will fit. There are options that get round this but vignetting might be an issue when at the widest.
