Remote camera control with your Android app-

While searching for a way to record the basketball games of my son from different angles and showing the recordings afterwards in parallel and synced, I stumbled upon your Android app.

For the recordings I will use already existing Android smartphones, mounted to a tripod. I tried the setup but had issues controlling two phones at the same time.
I can connect from the controller to phone A or to phone B but I'm never able to choose both at the same time.
I even tried to mix in an iPhone 13 as the controller but it doesn't see any of the Android phones.
And yes, all of them are in the same network all the time ;-)

Any ideas or hints ? Although I know and understand that iOS is your main focus, I was hoping that either a pure Android setup or perhaps even a mixture of Android and iOS will work too.

I have just tested the same and also researched the topic. It’s been discussed on Reddit as well.

Result: As of 2025-02-15 the Blackmagic Design Camera app remote control feature is not cross-platform compatible.

So, sadly, it’s just iOS Devices controlling iOS devices and Android controlling Android.

Hopefully this will change in the future.

I am also in need of an android camera control app for my BMPCC 6k.
I hope this changes. I'm pretty sure the number of people with iPhone and Android are close to 50-50. Hopefully it's on their agenda. I like my google pixel phone.
