Another vote for Vistek.

What's the concern though? Even the battery that comes with the camera should be fine just sitting in the box for a year.

This is the key question. Unless BMD made some change in manufacturing in the last four months, there will be no difference between a camera made in the last 4 months and one made a year ago. Do you have some information on a change in manufacturing or specs that hasn't been publicly announced?

DVshop is a small 3 person store which is owned and run by professionals and is much loved. By far mu first choice in Canada.
