BMPCC6KPro Cannot upgrade form 7.9.1

6kPro is at 7.9.1. Want to update to 8.x, but I cannot for the life of the camera get it updating.
I tried every update package from 8.0 to 9.x and they all fail when the camera gets to the recovery mode part of the install.
I contacted official support and they said it would cost about 750€ to fix.
Thats an expensive software update.
Anyone had similar experiences? Don't really want to pay for a BMPCC4K valued PCB fix.
