BMCC 6k record trigger? Portkeys Keygrip?

Hi, I’m new here but hoping to find a decent record trigger solution for the BMCC 6k.

My Googling has found relatively few options. The one I’m trying to make work at the moment is connecting my BMCC 6k Bluetooth to a Portkeys Keygrip. I have not been able to connect them yet.

I had been unable to figure out how to have the Bluetooth of my 6k connect to anything, so I purchased the BMD Bluetooth+ app, which some people suggested. So far so good — it connect and provides some controls on the phone, including “record” (though in a way that wouldn't be useful in a run-and-gun scenario).
The BMD Bluetooth+ app advertises the ability to connect to external bluetooth-enable controllers like some Tilta controllers. It’s a $10 “Pro” add-on, so no biggie to bite the bullet and experiment… but has anyone here worked with the Portkeys Keygrip? Or know if the Bluetooth+ add-on is likely to connect to it?

Or does anyone have a better (or any) solution for a record trigger that can be mounted on the handgrip of a shoulder or somewhere more accessible than the camera body?

I’ve tried and failed with about three different trigger experiments..

Any help is much appreciated.

It turns out I can now answer some of my own questions in case anyone else wants to use the Portkeys Keygrip with a BMCC 6k. The short answer is: yes, it works. Perhaps even more shocking — at least for me, with relatively low expectations — is that after getting a Keygrip on Ebay that arrived with a menu in Chinese, the support contact email at Portkeys sent me a 15 second video (that looked like it was shot in the office) walking me through the menu clicks to change the language to English. Kudos to Portkeys support!
From there, there rest took care of itself.
You can select BMCC4K_BT and the Keygrip will prompt to enter the key on the BMCC Settings Bluetooth screen. Bingo, connection. Record control. FPS control. Shutter and Iris control.
I don’t have a rig where I would be able to check on zoom or focus, but that wasn’t my target. I just wanted Bluetooth record control, and I can now confirm Keygrip can give you that.
