Micro Cinema Camera - Substance on IR filter

PostThu Mar 20, 2025 10:08 pm

Hi All,

There is a strange substance/separation going on on the IR filter in front of the sensor on my Micro Cinema Camera. Anyone seen something like this or know what it is?

Yeah, it's a known fault of the older colour filter on the og pocket, BMMCC, BMMC, p4k and p6k. Most people call it corrosion of the filter. You can pick up replacements on ebay for cheap or you can go for a more premium solution from a company like Rawlite.

I must say though, it was quite an annoying operation to swap out but you can follow the portion from around 6 minutes of this video to DIY -

Kolari sells a replacement filter and hot filter for this camera.
